North Helpline offers three main programs.
Our Food Bank provides food and other basic essentials (including baby supplies such as formula and diapers) to over 700 households each week.
Our Emergency Services Program provides rental and eviction support, utility shut-off prevention, transportation vouchers, and referrals to employment and educational resources.
Our Health Care Clinic in connection with RotaCare Medical Services and Neighborcare Health provides services ranging from acute care and health services screening to a long term healthcare home for managing chronic conditions.
The geographic range of North Helpline’s services includes residents living in zip codes: 98115, 98125, 98133, 98155, and 98177.
Food Bank
Since 1990, North Helpline has helped prevent hunger in Greater North Seattle neighborhoods. Each week, more than 1,000 different individuals receive groceries they need to prepare nutritionally balanced meals at home.
In 2009 North Helpline:
- Served close to 3500 unduplicated people in our food bank.
- Provided over 63,300 “grocery visits” to these households.

Emergency Services
North Helpline provides emergency assistance, including eviction prevention, assistance with preventing utility shut-offs, move-in costs, and referrals to community services.
Hours of Operation
Emergency services and counseling are offered Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays between the hours of 10:00 AM – 1:30 PM.
Baby Cupboard and Toddler Program
This program provides formula, baby food, diapers, and other baby supplies for families with children under two years of age, as well as food staples for children ages two through five.
Hours of Operation
The Baby Cupboard and Toddler Program operates on the first Saturday of the month from 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM and throughout the following week at Emergency Services, as well as throughout the month in emergency situations for clients in need.
